The Thiel College community is mourning the death of student-athlete Toby Atwood ’26, who passed away Sunday, July 20, after collapsing during the Presque Isle Half Marathon in Erie, Pa. Atwood was a rising senior, an accomplished member of the women’s tennis team and a campus leader.

Thiel College will host a Cheer Recruitment and Skill Clinic on Saturday, July 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at FI Hermitage in Hermitage, Pa. The clinic is open to high school cheerleaders interested in learning collegiate-level skills and exploring potential opportunities with the Thiel College cheer program.

Thiel College will host its annual Lil’ Scratchers Cheer Camp on July 10 and 11, 2025. The two-day camp is open to children ages 4–12 and will run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day on campus.
