GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The Thiel Players will present “The Play That Goes Wrong,” a fast-paced comedy filled with theatrical mishaps, physical humor and unexpected disasters, Nov. 13-15 and Nov. 20-21 in the William A. Robinson Theater at Thiel College.
Written by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields and Jonathan Sayer, the award-winning comedy follows the fictional Cornley University Drama Society as its members attempt to stage a 1920s murder mystery, “The Murder at Haversham Manor.”
What begins as a traditional whodunit quickly unravels as missed cues, malfunctioning props and increasingly chaotic performances threaten to derail the production. From an unconscious leading actress to a corpse that refuses to stay dead, the determined cast struggles to keep the show moving despite a seemingly endless series of mishaps.
The production combines slapstick comedy, elaborate staging and theatrical satire as the fictional actors attempt to complete their performance against increasingly impossible odds.
Performances are scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Nov. 13-15, and Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20-21, at the William A. Robinson Theater.
Tickets are available through the Thiel College theater ticketing website. Tickets purchased at the door must be paid for in cash.
