Farrell High School senior Brice Butler wins Thiel College scholarship worth $130,000

GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Farrell High School senior Brice Butler, of Farrell, Pa., was awarded an academic scholarship worth $130,560 to Thiel College during a surprise presentation on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at the eCenter@LindenPointe in Hermitage, Pa.

Butler is one of five winners for 2020 from among a field of 140 applicants. He joins Farrell High School classmate Gary Satterwhite III;  Hannah Stoughton, a senior from Apollo-Ridge High School (Apollo, Pa.); Seneca Valley High School seniors Anna Paul, of Zelienople, Pa., and Sarahy Lopez, of Cranberry, Pa.

He plans to major in Thiel College’s new exercise science program.

Butler was a four-year member of the football, basketball and volleyball teams. He was a three-year member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Club. Butler also participated in Quest, the E-Academy and the Aevidum backpack program as well as being Farrell’s homecoming king. Butler plans to play football at Thiel College.

He is the son of Robert and Amie Butler, of Farrell, Pa.
