GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Seneca Valley High School senior Anna Paul, of Zelienople, Pa., was awarded an academic scholarship worth $130,560 to Thiel College during a surprise presentation on Thursday, Dec. 10 at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople, Pa.
Paul was one of five winners for 2020 from among a field of 140 applicants. She joins Seneca Valley High School classmate Sarahy Lopez, of Cranberry, Pa., and Hannah Stoughton, a senior from Apollo-Ridge High School (Apollo, Pa.). Farrell High School classmates Brice Butler, of Farrell, Pa., and Gary Satterwhite III, of Farrell, Pa., were the final two winners announced on Dec. 15.
She plans to major in Thiel College’s new five-year physician assistant program. Students in the program graduate with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in five years.
“I am super excited to have this opportunity and so grateful for everything Thiel has given me,” Paul said. “I am so excited to attend Thiel next fall.”
Paul is a member of her church youth group, show choir, Believe It Or Not I Care, Project Unify and Circle of Friends. In the community, she has gone on church mission trips and volunteered at Methodist Women’s Hospital in Omaha, Neb.
She is the daughter of David and Jennifer Paul.
