GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College will welcome prospective students and their families to campus July 24 for a Tomcat Tailgate, the College’s signature summer admission visit event, featuring academic and student life sessions, meetings with faculty and coaches, campus tours and a tailgate-style cookout.
Designed for high school students exploring colleges in western Pennsylvania, Tomcat Tailgate offers separate experiences for prospective student-athletes and students interested in academic programs, the honors program, performing arts, student organizations and campus life. Participants also will learn about scholarships, financial aid and the admissions process while exploring Thiel's Greenville campus.
The Summer BBQ Visit is designed for high school students considering college enrollment and includes campus tours, information about the admissions process, and opportunities to meet with faculty, staff and current students. Families will learn about academic offerings, student support services, scholarships and financial aid while experiencing the campus community firsthand.
“Tomcat Tailgate gives students and their families the opportunity to experience what makes Thiel College distinctive,” Director of Admissions Sonya Lapikas said. “Whether they're interested in academics, athletics, the honors program, performing arts or campus involvement, visitors can meet the people who will support them throughout their college journey while getting a firsthand look at what life as a Thiel Tomcat is all about.”
In addition to the Summer BBQ Visit, Thiel College continues to offer regular campus tours throughout the summer. The College also is featuring special Friday pop-up visit events that provide additional opportunities for prospective students and families to explore campus and learn about academic programs, student life and the Thiel experience.
Campus visits are an opportunity for students to evaluate academic majors, residence halls, campus facilities and extracurricular opportunities while learning about career pathways and experiential learning available through a liberal arts education.
