Thiel College hosts youth sports camps, prospect clinics

GREENVILLE, Pa.--
Thiel College will host a variety of youth sports camps, prospect clinics and United States Tennis Association tournaments this summer, providing opportunities for elementary, middle school and high school students to develop athletic skills, explore collegiate athletics and experience NCAA competition facilities.

The summer schedule includes instructional camps for younger athletes, recruiting-focused clinics for prospective college students and USTA junior tennis tournaments. Camps and clinics are led by Thiel College coaches and provide participants with opportunities to improve sport-specific skills while experiencing the College’s athletic facilities.
Youth skills camps include:
- Men’s Basketball Camp: July 6-8, with sessions from 9 a.m. to noon and noon to 3 p.m. for students entering grades 3-8 in Beeghly Gymnasium.
- Cheerleading Camp: July 9-10 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children ages 4-12 in Beeghly Gymnasium.
- Women’s Basketball Camp: July 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for students entering grades 1-8 in Beeghly Gymnasium.
- Men’s Volleyball Skills Camp: Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for students entering grades 9-12 in Beeghly Gymnasium.
- Track and Field Skills Camps: Thiel College Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Jessi Juarez has announced three summer clinics designed to help high school athletes improve their speed, technique and overall athletic performance. The Tomcats will host an Athletic Clinic on Saturday, July 11, followed by a High Jump Clinic along with a Hurdles Clinic on Saturday, July 18. All three clinics will take place at the Stamm Track & Field Complex on Thiel College's campus.
Prospect clinics for high school students and prospective collegiate athletes include:
- Football Prospect Camp: July 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stoeber Field inside Alumni Stadium for students in grades 9-12 and transfer students.
- Men’s Volleyball Prospect Camp: Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for students entering grades 11-12 in Beeghly Gymnasium.
- Track and Field Olympic Weightlifting Clinic: The program began on June 10 and continues Wednesdays through July 29 for students entering grade 9 through college juniors. The eight-week program focuses on Olympic weightlifting techniques and strength development.
- Women’s Lacrosse Prospect Camp: The Thiel College women's lacrosse program has announced its Women's Lacrosse Prospect Day, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 9 at Alumni Stadium.
Thiel College also will host two USTA junior tennis tournaments at the Tomcat Tennis Courts. A Level 6 tournament for boys and girls ages 16 and under and boys and girls ages 18 and under is scheduled for July 11-12. A Level 5 girls 18-and-under tournament will follow July 25-26.
“These events are a fantastic opportunity to showcase our top-notch facilities and the vibrant spirit of Thiel College,” Director of Athletics Isaac Collins said.
