GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College will host two United States Tennis Association junior tournaments this summer at the College’s updated tennis facilities, welcoming players from across the region and beyond.
The Tomcat Tennis Tournament, a Level 6 USTA event, is scheduled for July 11–12 and will feature boys and girls singles divisions for players ages 18 and under and 16 and under. Registration for the tournament runs from May 24 to July 6. Last year’s event drew competitors from as far away as Texas.
New this year, Thiel will also host a Level 5 USTA girls 18-and-under flighted tournament July 25–26. Registration for that event runs from June 4 to July 5. Competitors must be USTA members. Junior memberships are free for players under age 19.
The tournaments continue to expand Thiel’s growing role as a host site for regional athletic and youth events while showcasing the College’s upgraded tennis complex.

The Level 5 tournament is expected to draw higher-level competition from across the region.
“The Greenville community will get to enjoy an even higher level of tennis with the addition of the USTA Level 5 Girls 18 and under tournament,” men’s and women’s tennis coach and tournament director Anthony Kobak said.
