GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College is making it easier for prospective students to understand and access merit scholarships through a new, streamlined award system launching in the 2026–2027 academic year.
The simplified model uses a single scholarship grid tied directly to high school GPA, replacing the previous system of multiple merit-based awards with varying criteria. This clear and consistent structure ensures that students and families can quickly see the merit scholarship amount available to them. These merit scholarships are frequently in addition to other scholarship awards available from the College.

New Merit Scholarship Grid (effective incoming Fall 2026 students):
“We believe this improved structure does a superior job of acknowledging and rewarding the academic accomplishments of our future students,” said Ashley Zullo, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “Parents, counselors, and students will find it simpler, more consistent, and ultimately more rewarding.”
In addition to the updated merit award grid, Thiel College is offering students with a 3.0 high school GPA or higher the chance to compete for a full-tuition scholarship if they apply and are accepted to Thiel by Nov. 1, 2025. All students who participate in the Scholarship Competition will automatically receive an additional award for attending the competition.
“By consolidating our merit awards and enhancing opportunities through the Scholarship Competition, Thiel is showing its commitment to affordability and access,” Zullo said. “This redesign will make a Thiel education more accessible and affordable, while continuing to recognize the achievements of our incoming students.”
