Thiel College hosting six authors as part of alumni authors event at Langenheim Library

GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College Alumni Relations is hosting an Alumni Authors Meet & Greet at noon Wednesday, April 19 in the Langenheim Memorial Library.

“This is an excellent opportunity for the Thiel community to come out and meet with our alumni authors who have written both professionally and personally.” Director of Alumni Relations David Hummel ’83 said. “All the authors are thrilled to come back to their alma mater and sit down with students, staff and faculty.”

The authors attending this event include Don Achenbach ’77, Don Hilton ’79, Dan Kirk ’82, Gary Larson ’69, David W. Marczely, who is presenting for his wife, Bernadette Marczely ’67 who passed away, Paul Miller ’69 and Annette Rodriguez Carreras ’08. The alumni authors will speak about their publications and share their journeys to becoming an author. Anyone at the event will have the opportunity to sit down and mingle with the authors and ask questions.

Achenbach is a freelance writer who has published a children’s short series called “Oliver Toliver,” based on a boy who has a vivid imagination and discovers he is anything but ordinary throughout his adventures. Hilton, a freelance writer and author, has many publications, but is known for his two murder mystery books, “Murders, Mysteries and History of Lorain County Ohio, 1842-1956” and “Murders, Mysteries and History of Crawford County, Pennsylvania 1800-1965.” Rodriguez Carreras is the author of the young adult fantasy novel “Lifeforce” and is working on its sequel. More about these authors and their publications will be presented on April 19 during the event.

Anyone interested in finding out more about Thiel’s alumni authors can visit the Langenheim Memorial Library, which has a collection of many of the College’s alumni authors.
