Four-Year Career Blueprint

The Four-Year Career Blueprint is the Thiel College Career Development Center’s comprehensive plan to prepare students for the workforce before graduation. The sequence is outlined below.

First Years

  • Participate in 'Exploration Exercise: Launching My Brilliant Career'
  • Schedule minimum of 2 career counseling sessions, 1 per term
  • Attend a minimum of 2 career workshops ('Resume Writing' and 'Elevator Pitch')
  • Attend a minimum of one employer or alumni event

Complete a profile in College Central, upload revised resume and elevator pitch

Sophomores

  • Participate in 'Sophomore Career Spotlight' program
  • Schedule a minimum of 2 career counseling sessions, 1 per term
  • Attend a minimum of 2 career workshops ('LinkedIn' and 'Interviewing')
  • Attend a minimum of one employer or alumni event

Create a LinkedIn profile, link it to College Central profile and complete a mock interview

Juniors

  • Schedule a minimum of 2 career counseling sessions, 1 per term
  • Attend a minimum of 3 career workshops ('Internship Steps', 'Cover Letters' and 'The Job Search')
  • Attend a minimum of 2 employer or alumni events, one off-site
  • Secure a summer internship
  • Apply for graduate school, if applicable

Be matched with an alumni career mentor, create a cover letter and secure a summer internship

Seniors

  • Sign up for INDS 411:Senior Career Development Seminar to get assistance in job searching strategies, networking, mock interviewing, job offer negotiations, managing up, the first 30 days, workplace etiquette, and off-site visits to companies
  • Schedule a minimum of two career counseling sessions
  • Apply for jobs and land interviews
  • Schedule an exit interview with the Career Development Center

Revise and perfect resume on College Central, begin job search and secure interviews
