GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College Professor of Painting and Curator of Art Sean McConnor, M.F.A. opened an exhibition of his work in The Weyers-Sampson Gallery on Monday, September 12 to October 14.
The exhibition, “Sabbatical Works, Plus.,” will feature a selection of paintings and drawings leading up to and including work from McConnor’s sabbatical taken in Fall 2021. The themes in the exhibition are still life, landscape and the figure. Along with the exhibition, McConnor will host a Thiel Special Forum on the value of studying the visual arts for the undergraduate at 4 p.m. October 13 the Weyers-Sampson Gallery.
McConnor has taught art at the college for 23 years. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in art education from Kent State University and Master of Fine Arts in painting from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, McConnor has exhibited in regional and national juried competitions and shown in group and solo exhibitions at various college and university galleries, and private Cleveland galleries.
