GREENVILLE, Pa.-- From moving products efficiently to keeping workplaces safe and navigating complex regulations, some of the most important jobs in business happen behind the scenes, and Thiel College is giving students a new pathway into those careers with an industrial operations and compliance concentration in its Bachelor of Arts in business administration program.
The new concentration is designed for students interested in the business side of industries such as manufacturing, logistics, construction, healthcare, energy and environmental services. It combines Thiel’s business administration curriculum with coursework focused on operations, workplace safety, regulatory compliance and risk management.
For students, that can mean preparing for careers ranging from logistics and supply chain management to quality assurance, occupational health and safety, risk management and regulatory compliance.
“This is a great entryway for students who are interested in business and want a hands-on career solving real organizational problems,” Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Sheila Nowinski, Ph.D. said. “Employers across a wide range of industries need people who understand how to keep organizations operating safely, efficiently and responsibly.”
The concentration approaches those careers from a business perspective. Students learn how organizations operate and how decisions involving safety, efficiency, regulations and risk can affect employees, customers and the bottom line.
