GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach Carissa Eichmeyer was a panelist in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s Female Coaching Mentorship Program workshop on April 25.
The hour-long workshop was held virtually and was titled “Battling Burnout: How to Avoid It and How to Rebound Once You’re In It.” Female coaches will hear from a panel of dynamic women from diverse backgrounds and receive guidance on avoiding, recovering from, and supporting others who are experiencing burnout. The other individuals serving on the panel come from a variety of coaching and counseling positions at colleges and other organizations.
The program was exclusively for female coaches.
Eichmeyer was hired in August of 2018 as the head coach for men’s and women’s cross country. She also serves as the distance coach for men’s and women’s track & field teams. Eichmeyer is the senior woman administrator and director of compliance & eligibility for Thiel College.
Eichmeyer is Thiel College’s first head coach dedicated specifically to cross country and distance running since Kevin Pool, who was the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2008, held the position in the late 2000s.
