GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The Thiel College men's soccer team beat Saint Vincent, 2-0, in both teams' Presidents' Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday.

In the second half, the Tomcats broke a scoreless tie with a goal from Zach Johns ’25 (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin Area) at the 67:05 mark. It was the first college goal of Johns’ career. Just over 11 minutes later, Anthony Phillips ’23 (Hanoverton, Ohio/United Local) netted a goal for the Tomcats to help secure the 2-0 victory.

It is also the first win for head coach Zach Walters who took over the program following the 2019 season. The Tomcats played an abbreviated spring season in 2020.
