GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Student-athlete Keaton Baker ’25, an incoming first-year student at Thiel College, was awarded Student-Athlete of The Week Honors by Youngstown CBS affiliate WKBN.
Going into his final year of high school football, Baker did not have any offers to play football in college. A terrific senior year, however, changed that.
The United High School senior earned all-Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference and all-state honors as well as breaking three school records. Baker, a wide receiver, broke three of his high school’s records, including most receiving yards in a season (1,392), most receptions in a season (86), along with most receiving yards in a single game (255). Besides shining on the field, the Salem, Ohio native also excels in the classroom with a 3.74 grade point average and membership in the National Honor Society.
“I made my decision after I left the campus,” Baker said. “I (knew) it was the one for me. I liked the coaches and the players I talked to.”
