GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania, awarded full tuition scholarships worth $125,000 each to Milford High School seniors Alexander and Daniel Lutz.
Representatives from the Thiel College Office of Admission visited the brothers at school Monday, Dec. 18 to present them with a check representing the financial aid award as a result of their exceptional performance in high school and at a scholarship competition held on Dec. 2.
“Daniel and Alexander interviewed separately in our scholarship competition,” Vice President of Enrollment Management Ashley Josay Zullo said. “They independently impressed us all and the decision to give them both the full tuition scholarship was made on an individual basis.”
In 2016, the Lutz brothers were inducted into the National Honor Society for excellence in scholarship, service to their school and community, leadership, and character. They also both played baseball and football for Milford High School.
The brothers participate in various service projects as a part of the National Honor Society, and have also served as volunteers in a fifth-grade classroom throughout their junior and senior years.
Daniel Lutz is interested in majoring in education at Thiel and Alexander is still undecided. They are the sons of Mark and Beth Lutz, of Loveland, Ohio.
