GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Jacob Coffield, of Bethel Park, Pa., has been awarded a Dean’s Scholarship to attend Thiel College.
The Dean’s Scholarship, worth $12,000 over four years, is awarded annually to five incoming students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.
Coffield is a student at Bethel Park High School and plans to major in environmental safety management.
During high school, Coffield was active in a number of academic and extracurricular activities. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Environmental Science Club, and Distributive Education Clubs of America. Coffield also played on the school’s soccer team and participates in recreational basketball.
Outside of school, Coffield enjoys spending time outdoors and lists hunting and fishing among his primary interests.
He is the son of Debbie and Jim Coffield and has two sisters, Karissa and Kariane.
Thiel College emphasizes access and affordability for students and families. Ninety-nine percent of Thiel students receive some form of financial aid, including merit-based scholarships such as the Dean’s Scholarship.
