GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and doctoral student Jennifer Martin has been appointed the Director of the Career Development Center at Thiel College.
Martin brings more than 20 years of experience in education, workforce development, and talent management to her new role. Her background includes leadership positions in higher education and the U.S. Army. Most recently, she served as Department Chair for the Military Science program at Slippery Rock University, where she implemented career strategies that increased job placement rates by 85% and secured over $4.2 million in scholarships and student funding.
Martin is completing a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and administration at Slippery Rock University. She holds a Master of Science in information technology from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her experience also includes talent management work at the Pentagon, where she helped develop national-level leadership assessment and development programs for the U.S. Army. Martin completed 23 years of distinguished active duty service in the U.S. Army, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
As Director of Career Development, Martin will oversee student career coaching, internship and job placement services, and graduate school preparation. Her appointment supports Thiel’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for professional success.
