Thiel College welcomed Martin Black as Associate Dean for Career Development, a position he began in July. Prior to his appointment at Thiel College, Black was the assistant dean for career development at Brandeis University's Heller School in Waltham, Mass. He also worked as director of career services and then director of employee relations at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College in Pittsburgh.

Thiel College welcomes the Rev. Jayne Thompson as campus pastor, a position she will assume on August 12. Rev. Thompson comes to Thiel College from University Lutheran Church of the Epiphany and Lutheran Campus Ministry, St. Cloud, Minn. where she has served as campus congregation pastor since 2005.

Thiel College welcomed Than Oo as director of student activities and involvement, a position he assumed on July 15. Oo comes to Thiel College from Binghamton University in Binghamton, N.Y., where he worked in the Office of Campus Activities as a graduate coordinator and resident director.

Thiel College will welcome Bob Batchelor, Ph.D. as Associate Professor of Communication and Pedas Endowed Chair in Communication, a position he will assume this fall. He will also be the executive director of the new James Pedas Communication Center.

Montgomery will serve as the Greenville Neuromodulation Scholar of Neuroscience and Philosophy, beginning in fall 2013. A fellowship-trained Movement Disorders Specialist who has established deep brain stimulation (DBS) programs at major medical centers and universities throughout the country and has treated more than 10,000 patients with Parkinson's disease, Montgomery was also named Medical Director of the Greenville Neuromodulation Center (GNC) in June.
