GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College will begin construction of the $6.5-million James Pedas Communication Center this summer, with completion scheduled in early fall 2014.
While this technologically-advanced facility will benefit communications majors, it primarily will serve as an academic hub for all Thiel students to develop communication proficiencies for successful careers and lives. Features of the new building include a new Admissions Office, media-rich environment with sophisticated labs and studios, and dynamic, flexible classrooms and learning spaces.
The groundbreaking will feature remarks from Thiel president Dr. Troy D. VanAken; Dr. James Pedas, the lead donor and member of the Class of 1950; Ed Bartko, chair of the Board of Trustees; and Dean of the College Dr. Lynn Franken. A reception will follow.
Media parking is available in the Gymnasium or Passavant Center/William A. Robinson Theater lot. The groundbreaking will be located next to the Financial Services Building, adjacent to Brother Martin’s Walk on the upper half of campus.
