Thiel College’s Kappa Sigma fraternity to host 31st annual See-Saw-A-Thon for Military Heroes

GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The 31st annual Kappa Sigma See-Saw-A-Thon to raise money for the local veterans began Thursday and continues until Sunday, Oct. 26.

It began Thursday at noon. Participants will ride the see-saw for 72 consecutive hours, on the lawn near the intersection of routes 18 and 58 in front of Thiel College’s Howard Miller Student Center.

All proceeds from the event will go to local veterans via the Reynolds VFW, who will work with the Greenville and Jamestown VFWs to find beneficiaries of any donations.

For 31 years, the Xi Epsilon chapter of Kappa Sigma has been fundraising thousands of dollars riding the 25-foot-long metal see-saw during the yearly event. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be collecting money at the intersection for local veterans. Students and members of the Thiel College community can ride the see-saw, meet the brothers, and donate.

Kappa Sigma created the Military Heroes Campaign in 2007. The campaign serves as their philanthropy. The campaign honors and aids thousands of military veterans and their families in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception, the campaign has donated over $1 million to non-profit organizations that advocate on behalf of servicemen and women and those wounded in combat.
