GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College student Grace Jones ’25 M.S. ’26 was recently accepted into the Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center Scholars Program, where she will complete additional coursework to supplement her current studies, gain additional training experiences, and expand her professional network.
The Pennsylvania AHEC Scholars Program provides free, transformative opportunities for health profession students to achieve healthcare equity through social determinants, cultural competence, interprofessional education, and community engagement.
Jones recently earned the prestigious Student of the Month Award at Thiel. The Student of the Month program recognizes six seniors each semester. She is a 2021 Commodore Perry High School graduate and a health systems major. Following graduation, she intends to complete Thiel College’s Master of Science in physician assistant studies degree and pursue a career in the medical field.
Jones is a Pathway 1 Physician Assistant Studies student and Physician Assistant Student Society president of the PA 2026 graduate class. She was one of the students who started and led the undergraduate PA club from her first year to the start of graduate school. During her undergraduate studies, she also served as a peer mentor for incoming first-year students and a peer note-taker. In addition to receiving her undergraduate degree, she has worked as a personal care attendant at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community for the past four years, earning a staff leadership award in 2023.
Additionally, AHEC’s mission is to collaboratively develop and deliver education programs to improve community health and expand the health workforce, particularly for rural and underserved Pennsylvanians.
