Thiel College hosting inaugural summer volleyball clinic and prospect camp

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College is hosting a summer volleyball clinic and prospect camp for middle and high school boys on July 23-24 at Beeghly Gymnasium.

The clinic and prospect camp are for students interested in skill improvement and considering a college playing career. The youth camp is for players in grades 7-9 and will be at Thiel College from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 23 in the Beeghly Gymnasium. The prospect camp is for players in grades 10-12 the following day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 in the Beeghly Gymnasium. The fee for these camps will be $60. Thiel College head coach Dylan Lasher ’15 is leading the camps.

“We are excited to offer Thiel’s first men’s volleyball skills clinic” Lasher said. “This is a great opportunity for boys volleyball players (grades 7-12) to build their skills and continue to grow the game.”

Lasher was appointed in December 2020. He is a Thiel College graduate. Lasher returned to Thiel after starting an NCAA Division III men's volleyball program at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. He recruited 15 student-athletes to compete for the Millikin Big Blue during the program's inaugural season in 2019-20. Lasher was the head women’s coach at Chatham University. While at Chatham, he was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference coach of the year in 2017 after leading the Cougars to a 17-11 record and the playoffs. As a four-year member of the volleyball team at Thiel, he ranks among the best in Thiel history in multiple statistical categories, including kills (658), serving aces (74), digs (670) and blocks (135).
