GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Ashton Camerot ’22, a business administration major and Thiel College graduate, is among the 24 women competing for the title at the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition held today and Saturday in York, Pa.
The preliminary round begins at 7 p.m. Thursday and concludes with the finals at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 18. Saturday’s winner qualifies for the Miss America pageant. Camerot, who is also a graduate of Thiel College’s cooperative program with the Pennsylvania Institute of Mortuary Science, qualified for the pageant by winning the Miss Oil City title this spring.
Camerot’s social impact initiative is helping people who live with grief. Camerot, of New Castle, Pa., is a 2018 graduate of New Castle High School. She was a member of the cheer and dance team at Thiel as well as the theatre honor society.
Contestants in the Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Pennsylvania Teen competitions are competing for more than $50,000 in scholarships.
