GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Through its collaboration with Thiel College the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps Knighthawk Squadron will serve as the color guard for Saturday’s football game between Thiel College and Bethany College at 1 p.m. at Alumni Stadium at Stoeber Field.
The Sea Cadet Corps is a prestigious organization that offers young individuals an unparalleled chance to explore the maritime services while gaining valuable leadership skills. With Thiel College as a designated host campus, this partnership will enable aspiring Sea Cadets to engage in training experiences, educational workshops, and leadership seminars.
“We are thrilled to showcase this collaboration, recognizing the military and involving our community in events at Thiel,” Thiel College Director of Athletics Jason Fautas said. “It’s a powerful symbol of unity and support for our nation’s future leaders.”
The Sea Cadets did their first training on campus on Aug. 27.
“This program is designed to enhance the confidence and leadership skills of our region’s youth, although it’s affiliated with the Navy it is not a necessary track to pursue joining the Military, but to be part of an elite organization that will build leaders and teach life lessons,” Thiel College Veteran Liaison Michael Mason said. “This is an amazing opportunity for our region and is open to anyone ages 10 through high school graduation no matter what school district they attend.”
The Sea Cadets program at Thiel College will offer participants a unique blend of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and leadership development opportunities. Cadets will have the chance to engage in various activities, including maritime skills training, physical fitness regimens and teamwork exercises.
