GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Gabriele Eaborn, the Thiel College men’s and women’s tennis coach and a Professional Tennis Registry certified tennis coach, will be hosting a summer junior development camp on the newly renovated Tomcat Courts this summer.
The camp is for beginner, intermediate and advanced middle or high school players. It will focus on stroke mechanics and consistency, footwork and match play strategy.
Eaborn will be joined by athletes from the Tomcats’ tennis team.
The camp begins June 20 and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for six weeks until July 27. First week of August will be utilized for any rain make-up dates. Camp costs $198 for all six weeks or $18 per session.
Eaborn was the 2019 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Coach of the Year. She led the 2019 women’s team to a single-season, program-best six wins.
As a student-athlete, Eaborn was a two-time Presidents’ Athletic Conference champion and had more than 100 career wins in singles and doubles competition.
About $300,000 was spent in upgrades at the courts, which included drainage improvements, foundation work and new asphalt on the lower courts, fencing repairs, new nets, equipment and windscreen,s and a resurfacing and repainting of the courts.
