GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College graduate and women’s basketball coach Jessica Vormelker ’19 has been named the Senior Woman Administrator. Her appointment began July 1.
The Senior Woman Administrator is the highest-ranking female involved in the management of an institution’s intercollegiate athletics program. NCAA membership voted to create the the designation in 1981.
“I feel truly honored and blessed to be named the Senior Woman Administrator at Thiel College,” Vormelker said. “I would like to thank (Director of Athletics) Jason Fautas for this incredible opportunity. I look forward to serving our student-athletes, coaches and campus community.”
As Senior Woman Administrator, Vormelker will serve as a member of the Department of Athletics leadership team and as Thiel College’s NCAA Diversity & Inclusion Designee. She will take part in Thiel College, Presidents’ Athletic Conference and NCAA committees as well as support and manage diversity, equity and inclusion and Title IX planning and education.
Vormelker attended a WeCoach workshop in April. She was selected to participate in the NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy in May of 2023.
