GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College is expecting about 75 scholastic cheerleaders as part of the National Cheerleaders Association camp the College is hosting on June 24-26 in Beeghly Gymnasium.
Student-athletes from five Pennsylvania teams and one from Ohio high and their coaches are expected to participate in the only NCA summer camp in the state being held west of Shippensburg. Cheerleaders will learn material provided by NCA while utilizing Thiel’s newly updated gymnasium and outdoor areas. Thiel cheer coach Randall Burnett M.A.’22 is leading the camp. Instructors from the University of Buffalo and Rutgers University will also be working the camp as well as Thiel senior Kaitlyn Schmidt ’25.
“The camp is designed to provide athletes from high schools with advanced skills training. This camp is not just about improving cheer techniques; it's about fostering a spirit of camaraderie and excellence among cheerleaders,” Burnett said. “We are excited to host athletes who share our passion and dedication to the sport and look forward to helping them enhance their skills and achieve their goals.”
Burnett led the Tomcats to a national championship in 2023, achieved three top-three finishes at NCA College Nationals and won a regional championship. Burnett has dedicated multiple years as a Head Instructor for the National Cheerleading Association.
