Washington D.C.-businessman and movie producer James Pedas ’50 H’89 will attend the dedication of the $6.8 million James Pedas Communication Center at Thiel College at 11 a.m. Saturday during his alma mater’s Homecoming festivities.

Wednesday, May 21 was a record-breaking day in the history of Thiel College. During the Thiel Fund Challenge, Thiel's 2:1 match day on May 21, alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and students rallied in just 24 hours to raise $51,975 demonstrating their belief in the Thiel Commitment.

Thiel College announced today that the $25 million bequest to the college by late businessman, scholar and philanthropist William S. Dietrich II will first be used to fund the Kenneth and Marianna Brown Dietrich Honors Program. Dietrich’s gift was the largest made to Thiel College in its 145-year history. It became operational upon his passing on Oct. 6, 2011 and was announced to the public on Nov. 3, 2011.
