Thiel College announces that as part of the celebration and recognition of Martin Luther King Jr., it will host the inaugural Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Dinner that will honor members of the Thiel College community who embody the ideals of the civil rights leader. The event begins at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21 in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center.

“Channel of Peace” author Kevin Tuerff, who has been portrayed on Broadway, written a book about his experiences being stranded following the 9/11 attacks on the U.S. and created a pay-it-forward endeavor that encourages people to do good deeds for strangers on the anniversary of the attacks, will speak at Thiel College at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 in Bly Hall of the Academic Center.
