GREENVILLE, Pa.—Berkshire High School senior, Natalie Hering, of Middlefield, Ohio, won an academic scholarship worth $139,856 to Thiel College during a surprise presentation on January 19.
Hering was one of five winners for 2023 from among a field of 136 applicants. She joins Bret Vilage, a senior from Norwin High School, and Cydney Wierzbowski, a senior from Derry Area High School. Hering plans to major in environmental safety management.
Hering is the captain of the Women’s Basketball team at her high school and intends to play basketball in college. She is also in the National Honors Society, Spanish Club, and is the Class Treasurer at Berkshire. In her local community, she volunteers at the Geauga County Department of Aging.
She is the daughter of Michelle and Bill Hering, and the sister of Colin Hering.
