GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College students Alex Andreozzi ’23, John Ganiear ’22, Amy Jackson ’23 and Kara Sokol ’23 are traveling to Harrisburg next week to compete against colleges and universities from across the Commonwealth in the final round of a marketing plan competition.
The Direct Effect Innovation Challenge is run annually by the Pennsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentenntial (America250PA).
Thiel College’s team consists of business and communication students.
The theme of this year’s event is “Showcase PA,” and it challenges teams to plan integrated marketing campaigns designed to showcase Pennsylvania’s rich culture, traditions, history and future. The Thiel team’s video pitch of their concept “ComPAssion through art” was rated highly enough to earn them a spot in the final round where they will present their plan in-person at the State Museum in Harrisburg.
Other finalists include teams from King’s College, Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, Point Park University, Saint Francis University and Thaddeus Stevens College.
This is the second straight year a team from Thiel has presented a plan in the competition.
