GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Three Thiel College students distributed 280 Christmas books throughout the region recently.
AC Campbell ’19, of Dumfries, Va., Ben Daisley ’19, of Conneaut Lake, Pa., and Jean Felix ’21, of Miami, Fla., traveled to Jamestown and Hermitage to distribute gifts of books to first graders in 10 classrooms in the region.
Organized by the United Way of Mercer County through their “Adopt a Classroom” program, the book purchases were funded by Thiel College and Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Campbell, Daisley and Felix gift-wrapped the books and, while placing them into each child’s hands, spoke briefly to the kids about the importance of reading for gaining knowledge and pursuing their dreams. On a separate occasion, a group of Thiel College education majors including Taylor Guth ’20, Courtney Harriman ’20, Megan Lee ’19, Colton McCright ’19, Annika Schul ’19 and Jess Vormelker ’19 assisted with the book giveaway at Greenville Elementary.
