Thiel College partners with Walberg Family Pharmacies to serve as COVID vaccination site

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College’s William A. Passavant Memorial Center will be the site of Walberg Family Pharmacies vaccination clinic Tuesday, Feb. 16.

The clinic is from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. Registration will be available Monday through Walberg Family Pharmacies’ website.

To be eligible for a vaccine, a patient must meet the requirements of the roll-out plan, which is now open to healthcare workers, residents of long-term care facilities, anyone 65 or older, anyone 16 or older with high-risk health issues.

The Passavant Center is the largest auditorium in Mercer County and has seating for about 2,000.

“Thiel College is honored to provide a convenient location where a large number of vaccinations can be administered quickly and safely,” Thiel College President Susan Traverso, Ph.D., said. “We are proud to do our part and support each of the unsung heroes working to save lives and halt the spread of this virus.”

About Walberg Family Pharmacies

Walberg Family Pharmacies is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Bretton and Stacey Walberg.

After earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy and Business Management, Bretton and Stacey purchased Jamestown Pharmacy in 1999 from Bretton’s parents and have continued to grow their business throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio. In 2014, Walberg Family Pharmacies won the prestigious Pharmacy of the Year Award for the Northeast Region from McKesson Pharmaceuticals, and during the same year, Bretton was selected as a Top Pharmacist Entrepreneur of the Year by PharmacyTimes. 

The Walberg Family has grown Walberg Family Pharmacies from one location to 11.

About Thiel College

Thiel College is an independent college founded in the Lutheran tradition. Located in Greenville, Pa., the College offers 60 majors and minors, 24 varsity sports, and an 11:1 student-faculty ratio.
