GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College was voted the top higher education institution in the Sharon Herald’s 2025 Best of the Best contest, which invites readers throughout Mercer County and beyond to recognize outstanding businesses, organizations, and institutions in the region.
The contest, organized by the Sharon Herald, invites community members and readers to cast votes online and through paper ballots in a wide range of categories. Thiel College received the most votes in the higher education category, surpassing other area colleges and universities.
“This recognition speaks to the strong bonds Thiel College has built with the community and with its alumni network,” Vice President for Communications and Marketing Richard Orr said. “Our alumni, supporters, and neighbors rallied behind the College during this campaign, and their participation reflects the pride people feel for Thiel and its mission of academic excellence, innovation, and service.”
Located in northwestern Pennsylvania between Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo, Thiel College offers more than 60 undergraduate majors and minors, as well as growing graduate programs. The College has recently expanded its offerings in health sciences, business, and nursing while continuing to emphasize experiential learning, student support, and innovative approaches to education.
The Best of the Best winners will be featured in a special edition of the Sharon Herald highlighting local favorites as selected by public vote.
The Best of the Best recognition adds to recent milestones for Thiel, which include record fundraising totals, new academic programming, and growth in student enrollment.
