GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The Mercer County Suicide Prevention Network partnered with the Thiel College Counseling Center along with help from the Thiel College radio station WXTC to create three public service announcements on suicide prevention.
“The collaboration among the Mercer County Suicide Prevention Network, the WXTC Radio Station, and the Thiel College Counseling Center culminated in three creative PSAs focusing on the very important topic of suicide prevention,” Director of the Counseling Center Melanie Broadwater ’98 said. “Our collective hope is that the PSAs serve as a reminder of the importance of checking in on one another’s mental health and also serve as a reminder that we all play a role in suicide prevention.”
Permission was obtained by the network to use the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention script of “Seize the Awkward:”
The Network converted the content of the video into three separate scripts to create the PSAs. The Thiel College radio station will play the PSAs.
The PSAs have been shared with other local colleges, and those institutions are permitted to edit and use the PSAs.
