GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College graduate Makenna Oswalt ’26 has been selected to participate in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Oswalt, a Johnstown, Pa., native, graduated from Thiel College with degrees in English and individualized business, communication and media. During her time at Thiel, she was a student-athlete, student organization leader and scholar in the Dietrich Honors Institute.

“Thiel provided me with so many amazing opportunities and experiences that have shaped me both personally and academically,” Oswalt said. “I would not have been able to accomplish all that I have without the constant support and encouragement from the many departments and individuals I had the opportunity to work with throughout my time at Thiel.”

She was a member of the Tomcats softball team, served as president of Sigma Kappa sorority and vice president of Sigma Tau Delta English honor society, and was a member of Lambda Sigma honor society and a scholar in the Dietrich Honors Institute.

Oswalt identified Professor of English and Director of the Dietrich Honors Institute Sheila Gross, Ph.D. ’10 as an important mentor during her time at Thiel and throughout the Disney College Program application process.

Gross was “a constant source of guidance, encouragement, and support throughout this entire process,” Oswalt said.

“I am incredibly thankful for my professors, peers, and everyone who has supported me along the way,” Oswalt said. “I truly would not be where I am today without my Thiel family!”

The Disney College Program is a competitive paid work and professional development program for college students and recent graduates. Participants work in guest-facing or backstage roles at Walt Disney World Resort while gaining professional experience and participating in Disney learning, networking and career-development opportunities.
