GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The need for online instruction during the final weeks of the semester opened the door for a rare conversation for Thiel College Department of Education students.

Thiel College Professor of Education and chair of the Department of Education Doug Hazlett, Ph.D., and Assistant Professor of Education Kara Schreckenghost led a conversation with the Education Department student teachers via Zoom recently with Michael Robbins ’96, a Thiel College graduate and the principal of a school in Toksook Bay, Alaska. Students heard about teaching in Alaska, viewed a video of the area and school district and received professional tips from Robbins.

The opportunity was made available through Mark Batt ’87, director of the Thiel Fund.
