Orientation session prepares Thiel College student teachers for area classrooms

GREENVILLE, Pa.--
Eleven members of the Thiel College Class of 2019 are headed to four Mercer County school districts to finish their degrees with their student-teaching assignment.

- Hall, a 2016 graduate of Mercer (Pa.) Area Junior-Senior High School, is teaching fourth grade and third–fifth-grade learning support at Sharpsville Elementary School.
- Farabaugh, a 2015 graduate of Penn Cambria (Pa.) High School, is teaching second and third grade and second-grade learning support at Greenville Elementary School.
- Crawford, a 2016 graduate of Greenville (Pa.) Senior High School, is teaching secondary social studies at Commodore Perry School District
- Lindeman, a 2016 graduate of Southwestern (N.Y.) Central High School, is teaching Kindergarten and learning support at Sharpsville Elementary School.
- Stone, a 2016 graduate of Kane (Pa.) Area High School, is teaching third grade and second–third-grade learning support at Greenville Elementary School.
- Guth, a 2016 graduate of Riverside (Pa.) High School, is teaching seventh–12th-grade math at Greenville Junior-Senior High School.
- Addison, a 2016 graduate of Greenville (Pa.) High School, is teaching fourth grade and fourth-grade learning support at Hermitage School District.
- Harriman, a 2016 graduate of Geneva (Ohio) High School, is teaching seventh–12th at Commodore Perry School District.
- Callander, a 2016 graduate of Keystone (Pa.) Junior-Senior High School, is teaching sixth-grade learning support and second grade at Greenville Elementary School.
- Sams, a 2016 graduate of Cameron County (Pa.) Junior-Senior High School, is teaching fourth grade and third-grade learning support at Greenville Elementary School.
- Carolus, a 2016 graduate of General McLane (Pa.) High School, is teaching fourth grade and fourth-grade learning support at Sharpsville Elementary School.
The students had an orientation session this past Wednesday, which included CPR lessons and a presentation by retired teacher and author of “Student Teaching: The Inside Scoop from a Master Teacher,” Dede Faltot Rittman.
