GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College announces Macy Siefert ’21, of West Middlesex, Pa., and Julia Wagner ’21, of Erie, Pa., as the October Student of the Month honorees.

The Student of the Month honor is a prestigious award at Thiel College that is presented to about six senior students each semester. The pair earned the October honor for their academic achievements and campus leadership.

Siefert is an accounting and actuarial studies double major with a minor in mathematics. She is the president of the Kappa Mu Epsilon math honor society, a member of the Chi Eta Sigma business honor society, and a member of Les Lauriers, the senior honor society. She was also a member of the Lambda Sigma sophomore honor society and is part of the women’s golf team and the rugby club.

“Thiel has given me all the resources that I need to be successful while also providing me with life-long friends and experiences that have helped me lead a purposeful life,” Siefert said.

A 2017 graduate of the West Middlesex Junior/Senior High School, Siefert is the daughter of George and Viki Siefert, of West Middlesex, Pa. She plans to accept a full-time position with Hill, Barth, and King LLC post-graduation after completing her second tax internship with the company this spring.

Wagner is a neuroscience and health systems double major with minors in chemistry, medical biology, and psychology. She serves as the president of the Nu Rho Psi neuroscience honor society, and she is a member of the Psi Chi psychology honor society, the Beta Beta Beta biology honor society, the American Chemical Society, the Health Professions Institute, and the College’s Dietrich Honors Institute. She was also a member of the Lambda Sigma sophomore honor society. Wagner is president of the Neuro Club and has been a member of the Tomcat Marching Pride for three years.

“Thiel has given me the opportunity to build strong connections and flourish,” Wagner said. “My professors have always gone out of their way to get to know their students. It is an amazing community that isn’t found at other small colleges.”

A 2017 graduate of Harbor Creek High School, Wagner is the daughter of Mike and Tina Wagner, of Erie, Pa. Following graduation, she plans to attend a Physician Assistant program to become a PA-C with hopes to work in neurology at a hospital.
