Computer science professor’s published article discusses gaming industry’s use of multimedia

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College Assistant Professor of Computer Science Brian Bradshaw, D.Sc., was published in a leading multimedia information systems peer-reviewed journal recently.

Bradshaw’s article, “A Case Study: How Are The Multimedia Technology Being Used by The Casino Gaming Industry,” was published in The Journal of Multimedia Information Systems.

The journal publishes papers on state-of-the-art multimedia information processing systems. Theoretical research contributions presenting new techniques, concepts or analyses; reports on experiences and experiments of implementation and application of theories; and tutorials on new technologies and trends are considered for the quarterly journal.

Bradshaw started teaching at Thiel College in 2015. He earned his doctorate from Robert Morris University in information systems and communications. He received his Master of Science in communications/CIS from Clarion University, a Bachelor of Science in music from Clarion University and a Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications/CIS from Westminster College. He recently completed his Master of Science in higher education administration at Robert Morris.

Bradshaw retired after 20 years in the U.S. Army Special Operations. He completed tours of duty with NORAD/USNORTHCOM and in Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany and Saudi Arabia. Bradshaw’s areas of expertise include music information retrieval systems, multicultural learning perception in the computer information systems classroom, multimedia technologies use in the casino gaming industry, and the use of social media technology in psychological warfare.
