Whether you’re interested in computer programming, mathematical theory, or applied mathematics Thiel has the right program for you. Our faculty work closely with students to assist students in developing the knowledge and skills they need (quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving), as well as mentoring them as they prepare for and pursue a range of professional opportunities.
No matter which program you pursue, you can expect to receive one-on-one instruction and career-focused guidance from faculty who have extensive professional experience.
The Ruth A. Miller Senior Business Seminar provides juniors and seniors with the opportunity to network with distinguished alumni during a series of weekly dinner lectures. Each event is followed by a Q&A session that allows business majors to join the conversation.
Students pursuing a math or computer science degree at Thiel have many opportunities to get involved. Our honor society in mathematics, Kappa Mu Epsilon, is open to mathematics students and those in similar fields. Students gain real-world experience through participating in the Thiel community as well. For example, our information systems majors participate in service-learning projects in Greenville creating and running websites for local organizations.
The Haller Enterprise Institute encourages students to build their own businesses while still pursuing their undergraduate degree. The institute offers thousands of dollars in scholarships and students are supported by a board of successful entrepreneurs and business professionals.
In their junior or senior year, many students take advantage of internship and study abroad opportunities to broaden their perspectives and deepen their practical knowledge of their major. These hands-on learning opportunities ensure students are equipped with the vital experiences that position them to start their career or pursue graduate education.
