Mercer County high school students eligible for exclusive Ella Busch scholarship at Thiel College

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Mercer County students could be eligible for up to $8,000 through the Ella Busch Scholarship.

Interested students who would like to be considered for the Ella Busch Scholarship should contact the Office of Admission at Thiel College after Jan. 5. 

To be eligible, students must be a resident of Mercer County, have at least a 3.0 high school grade-point average, have been accepted by Thiel College and attend one of the following schools:

Busch started working at Thiel College in 1946 as a receptionist, then worked as the assistant controller in the business office and as a personnel officer. From 1979 until her retirement in 1983, she served as the assistant to the president. In recognition of her service to the College, she was named an honorary alumna of Thiel College in 1987. She passed away in December 2017.

Students from Commodore Perry, Greenville, Jamestown and Reynolds high schools are eligible for the Baughman Scholarship. These scholarships are part of the more than $100 million in aid that has been awarded at Thiel College since 2009. Ninety-nine percent of students at Thiel College receive some form of financial aid.
