GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College’s annual Community & Military Appreciation Day celebration will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, beginning at 11:30 a.m., with an expanded slate of activities.
This year’s event will feature booths staffed by local community organizations and groups and a “Mobile Vet Center.” The mobile center is hosted by counselors from the Erie Vet Center who can talk to veterans about their wartime experiences and the center’s readjustment services. Thiel will face Washington & Jefferson College during the football game, which kicks off at 1:30 p.m.
Student musicians from local high school marching bands also will be on campus for the “Band Day” admissions visit day and will perform during half-time with the Thiel Tomcat Marching Pride band. A tailgate lunch buffet is available to Community Day attendees for $5 per person.
Any active or retired military personnel with military ID or in uniform will receive free admission to the Thiel football game. Partial proceeds from the event will benefit the Erie Vet Center.
