GREENVILLE, Pa.—The partnership between Thiel College and the Greenville Neuromodulation Center (GNC) has been strengthened with the addition of the new Thiel College Study Annex for Science and Medical Arts, which will serve students and faculty from GNC’s downtown Greenville location.
A dedication ceremony for the new facility is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 at GNC, 179 Main Street, Greenville, Pa. Tours of the new facility will follow the dedication.
With the opening, Thiel faculty, staff and students will have access to new neuroscience and medicine texts, a comfortable study facility for students and small gathering place for scientific and scholarly exchange. The annex gives Thiel faculty and staff access to some of the most recent and important textbooks in neuroscience and medicine to help them in providing state-of-the-art educational experiences for their students. The initial investment in medical texts will help Thiel faculty to increase opportunities to incorporate lessons directly related to human health and disease into their classrooms. Students will also have opportunities to interact with practicing physicians, healthcare professionals, medical industry representatives and technologists, as well as accomplished neuroscientists actively engaged in research.
The learning center is open to Thiel students, faculty and staff weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and upon faculty request for group discussions or special events. GNC has partnered with Thiel College since 2005 and has helped the College develop its neuroscience curriculum. It also gives students a chance to gain practical and hands-on research opportunities in the field through intern and fellowship offerings, academic mentorship and annual symposiums.
