Thiel College recognizing students for arts, research and scholarship at symposium

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College will recognize the art, research, scholarship and performances of its students with a day-long Scholarship & Research Symposium on April 11.

The symposium will feature several multimedia and oral presentations in the James A. Pedas Communications Center from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students of all majors will present their research on a wide range of topics, ranging from serial killers to harmful algal blooms.

Students will present research posters in the Rotunda Bistro of the Howard Miller Student Center from 12:45—1:45 pm. Students will be available to discuss their research and answer questions from viewers. Following the poster presentations, oral presentations will resume in the James A. Pedas Communications Center. There will be a short break for lunch preceding the poster presentations.

“The Scholarship and Arts Symposium is a campus-wide event to celebrate our students’ hard work and academic achievements,” Assistant Professor of Sociology Jared Hanneman, Ph.D., said. “All members of the campus and surrounding community are welcome and encouraged to attend any of the sessions. We look forward to a fantastic day to celebrate our students’ success.”

Following the final presentations, the Thiel College Choir will perform in the collaboration area of the Pedas Center to close out the day. No classes will be in session during this day-long recognition of scholarship and research.
