GREENVILLE, Pa.-- High school students, transfer students and their families can experience Thiel College firsthand this fall through a series of campus visits, open houses and special admission events designed to introduce them to the College’s academic programs, campus community and personalized approach to education.
The Thiel College Office of Admission will host an Open Saturday Visit on Sept. 26, inviting visitors to witness the excitement of Homecoming with events, traditions, parade and football game. Saturday visits are an important part of the Office of Admission offerings as they give students and families an opportunity to tour campus and learn more about Thiel College outside of the traditional Monday-through-Friday visit schedule. Additional Saturday visits are scheduled for Oct. 3, Oct. 24 and Nov. 7.
“The best way to get a feel for Thiel is to see Thiel for real,” Senior Director of Admission Sonya Lapikas said. “A campus visit can reveal what makes Thiel special. Students can meet the people who make this community what it is, explore campus and experience the personal, family-like atmosphere for themselves. It’s the real deal, and a visit helps students decide whether Thiel feels like the place they can call home.”
The College will host its Fall Open House at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. The event will provide high school and transfer students and their families with an expanded look at Thiel, including opportunities to explore academic programs and hear from College faculty.
A different kind of campus experience is planned for the evening of Thursday, Oct. 15. Thiel’s Lantern Tour begins at 6 p.m. and combines information about campus and the college admission process with a ghost tour and s’mores.
Several academic-focused campus visit opportunities are also scheduled this fall. The Dietrich Honors Institute Visit Day is Friday, Oct. 2; Psychology for a Day is Friday, Oct. 16; and Education for a Day is Monday, Nov. 9. These events give prospective students opportunities to explore specific areas of academic interest and experience more of the programs and people they could encounter as Thiel students.
Thiel will also host two Academic Scholarship Competitions for qualifying invited students. The competitions, which include interviews for full-tuition awards, are Saturday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 21.
Families planning farther ahead can also save several dates for spring admission events. Leadership Day is Saturday, Feb. 6; Accepted Students Days are Monday, Feb. 15 and Monday, March 22; and the Spring Open House is Saturday, March 20.
Individual campus visits are also available for high school students, transfer students and families who cannot attend one of the scheduled events.
