GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College announced today that Robert B. Schmoll has been appointed vice president for finance and management, a position he will assume in mid-September.
Schmoll, who has nearly 30 years’ experience in higher education administration, comes to Thiel from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan., where he was vice president for finance and operations and oversaw accounting/business office, bookstore, computer services, facilities, financial aid, food service and human resources for the college. Previously, he served in several positions of increasing responsibility at Dana College in Blair, Neb., including executive vice president and chief financial officer.

VanAken, Thiel College president. “His proven track record of success coupled with his commitment to helping enhance the student and campus experience is very important in this vital administrative position. Schmoll holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and bachelor’s degrees in business administration and German from Dana College.
As vice president for finance and management at Thiel College, Schmoll will supervise finance and accounting functions, human resources, physical plant and facilities, financial aid and other contracted services as well as serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet.
A native of Wisconsin, Schmoll currently lives in Kansas, with his wife, Judy, with whom he has three sons and seven grandchildren.
