Thiel College names sports information director

GREENVILLE, Pa.—Thiel College announced that William Becque has been named sports information director, a position he assumed yesterday.

Becque comes to Thiel College from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pa., where he served as the sports information graduate assistant. Previously Becque served as the sports information co-director at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill.

As sports information director, Becque will serve as the primary contact for the various athletic programs; produce media guides, game notes, game programs, write press releases and feature articles for College marketing materials; utilize social media in departmental marketing efforts; and coordination of game day staff.

Becque holds a degree in political science from Knox and an M.B.A. from Waynesburg. Becque was a two-year starter at right tackle for Knox College, a Division III offense that finished sixth in the NCAA in rushing in 2006. He also was selected as captain by his teammates.

Thiel also has hired Andrew Mindeman as intern assistant sports information director. Mindeman has served as part-time official scorer for the Chattanooga Lookouts baseball club and sports information assistant at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga. Mindeman has a degree in interdisciplinary studies (with concentrations in business, psychology and sociology) from Covenant College.
