GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania, Professor of Chemistry Kathryn Frantz, Ph.D., and Director of the Health Professions Institute and Associate Academic Dean for Student Success, Greg Butcher, Ph.D., attended the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions biennial meeting in Washington DC from June 27 to July 1.
The NAAHP was established in 1974 to “become the premier organization educating and supporting health professions advisors.” Through this meeting, Drs. Frantz and Butcher were able to learn about changes to the various graduate school admissions policies and procedures that will ultimately allow them to improve the pre-health advising provided by the HPI at Thiel College. Many aspects of the meeting will be directly implemented in the two fall HPI courses at Thiel College.
“The meeting is an excellent opportunity to learn about new trends in the application process, strengthen relationships with health-related graduate programs in our area, and bring back valuable resources for our students including over $5,000 in scholarships for test preparation courses for (Graduate Record Examination), (Medical College Admission Test) and others,” Butcher said.
